Celebrate International Women’s Day 2022 this Tuesday, March 8th, 3:00pm-4:30pm with Dr. Jessica Hernandez, a Maya Ch’orti’ and Zapaotec Indigenous scholar who recently published Fresh Banana Leaves: Healing Indigenous Landscapes Through Indigenous Science.

The Office of the Provost Invites you to celebrate International Women’s Day 2022 to an online conversation with with Dr. Jessica Hernandez, a transnational scholar, scientist and community advocate to celebrate International Women’s Day 2022. Dr. Hernandez will discuss her newly launched book “Fresh Banana Leaves: Healing Indigenous Landscapes Through Indigenous Science” and how advancing gender equality is critical in the context of climate change and a sustainable future. Following her talk, a panel discussion will take place with Dr. Hernandez and Dr. Adrianne Xavier (Acting Academic Director, Indigenous Studies Program) which will be moderated by Abeer Siddiqui (Science Librarian).
